> Profile	Je suis venu à WINTERBERG pour la présentation du TEAM GATES NICOLAI et j'ai rencontré mon nouveau équipier Erik . J'ai passé une super journée avec toute l'équipe GATES NICOLAI, Kallé , Hoshi , Hendrik,.... J'ai parlé avec le boss des nouveaux vélos et des projets et des objectifs. J'étais très heureux de voir qu'il y avait beaucoup de vélos NICOLAI sur la piste. Nous avons fait beaucoup de photos et je me suis entraîné car je vais venir participer à la compétition à la fin du mois. Je suis très fier d'être dans le TEAM GATES NICOLAI , pour la confiance qu'ils ont pour moi et le respect. Je remercie toutes les personnes qui travaillent pour NICOLAI. Je remercie tous les partenaires qui sont fidèles à notre aventure: GATES / SRAM / TRUVATIV / AVID/ ROCK SHOX / UFO / RESET / dbap / WHY / DT SWISS / IMTTO / M-CAX / SIXSIXONE / MAXXIS J'espère leur offrir de belles performances. Je vais venir les 24 et 25 Mai avec mon frère Jérôme à WINTERBERG pour la compétition et nous allons être fiers de rouler avec des vélos NICOLAI. IN ENGLISH : I came to WINTERBERG for the presentation of TEAM GATES NICOLAI and I met my new team member Erik. I crossed a great day with all team GATES NICOLAI, Kallé, Hoshi, Hendrik,......... I spoke with the boss of the new bikes and objectives. I was very happy to see, that there were many riders NICOLAI on the track.We made many photos, it was cool. I am very proud to be in TEAM GATES NICOLAI, for the trust which they have as me and respect. I thank all persons who work for NICOLAI. I thank all partners who are faithful to our adventure: GATES / SRAM / TRUVATIV / AVID/ ROCK SHOX / UFO / RESET / dbap / WHY / DT SWISS / IMTTO / M-CAX / SIXSIXONE / MAXXIS. > Profile	Le week-end du 30 mars se déroulait ma 1er course de la saison 2008 au Mt Brouily. Cette course amène plus de 450 pilotes chaque années. C'est une piste simple mais très amusante. Samedi:La journée d'essais c'est très bien passé même si les premières descentes étaient dures,je me suis vraiment fait plaisir avec mon frère et mes amis. Dimanche: Le ciel était couvert et le météo annonçait la pluie en fin de journée, l'objectif était de faire un bon temps le matin. Ma 1er manche se passe bien, je fait des erreurs sur le haut de piste mais rien de grave. Je me classe 2ème à moins d'une seconde la 1er place. La 2ème manche se déroule bien,j'améliore de 1sec mon chrono. Je finis donc 2ème derrière Thibaud Ruffin. Je suis vraiment satisfait de mon week-end car la préparation physique de cette hiver paye. In ENGLISH: The weekend of March 30th took place my 1st running of season 2008 in Mt Brouily. This race brings more than 450 riders every years. It is simple but very amusing lane. Saturday:The training day was very good even if the first run were hard, I was really delighted with my brother and my friends. On Sunday: The sky was covered and weather forecast announced the rain at the end of day, objective was to make a good time in the morning. My 1st run was nice. I rank 2nd unless one second the 1st place. The 2nd run was perfect. I finish 2nd at scrath. RESULT:1er Thibaud RUFFIN 2nd Joris BIGONI 3rd Esteban DERONZIER I am really satisfied of my weekend because physical preparation is OK. See you next time

> Profile	du 22 au 24 Avril je suis parti avec mon frère jérôme à SANROMOLO en Italie. J'avais vu des vidéos de plusieurs pilotes élites qui allaient s'entraîner sur les pistes. En france nous avions beaucoup de neige. le 1er jour nous sommes allés sur la piste de la compétition. C'est une piste très difficile pour le pilote et le vélo. C'est un site merveilleux avec une vue sur la mer. Nous avons fait seulement 4 descentes car nous avons eu la neige. nous avons eu la chance à quelques kilomètres de SANROMOLO de trouver avec l'aide de ROBERTO plusieurs pistes de free-ride. Nous avons roulé sur les pistes du matin jusqu'au soir. nous avons eu beaucoup de plaisir car l'hiver a été long. Il y a beaucoup de pistes techniques. il était très important de faire le bilan de mon entraînement hivernal Ma 1ère compétition se fera dans les vignobles de BROUILLY In English From 22 to April 24 I went with my brother to jérôme SANROMOLO Italy. I had seen videos of several elite racers who would train on the tracks. In france we had a lot of snow. The 1st day we went on the track of the competition. It is a very difficult track for the racer and the bike. It is a beautiful landscape with a sea view We made just 4 runs because we had snow. We had the chance a few kilometres from SANROMOLO found with the help of ROBERTO several tracks of free-ride. We drove on the tracks from morning till night. We had a lot of fun because the winter has been long. There are many technical tracks. It was very important to take stock of my winter training. My 1st competition will be in the vineyards of BROUILLY

Joris	TEST OF MY BROTHER'S BIKE (ION ST)

> Profile	J'ai eu la chance de pouvoir essayer le premier exemplaire du vélo ION ST de mon frère Jérôme sur notre piste. Il y avait de la neige et la piste était très glissante. Le vélo est très maniable et il est facile d'éviter les obstacles (racines, pierres,..), il est aussi très réactif sur le pédalage. C'est un vélo qui va être compétitif sur les pistes de la Coupe de France et sur les courses régionales La position est bonne et j'ai eu rapidement de bonnes sensations. NICOLAI a fabriqué un vélo avec un poids identique à ses principaux concurrents. IN ENGLISH: I was fortunate to be able to try the first copy of the bike ION ST of my brother Jerome on our track. There was snow and the track was very slippery. The bicycle is a very handy and it is easy to avoid (roots, rocks ,..), it is also very reactive on pedaling .. This is a bike that will be competitive on the tracks of the French Cup and the regional races; The position is good and I had good feelings quickly. NICOLAI has produced a bike with a weight identical to its main competitors

Schneidi	Freefall Race

> Profile	Eigentlich bin ich nur selten im Winter in den Bergen, da ich kein Ski Fahrer bin aber ich denke, dass wird sich jetzt ändern. Ski fahren ist Geil! In Zermatt stand ich das erste mal auf Ski und es war eine tolle Erfahrung. Zusammen mit Uwe Buchholz, Andre Wagenknecht und Felix Förster erlebten wir in Zermatt ein schönes Wochenende. Das Snow-Rennen war beeindruckend schnell, leider stürzte ich durch einen Snowboard Fahrer, der nichts mit dem Rennen zu tun hatte. Schade… Wenigstens waren wir schön Ski Fahren. Ich wünsche allen schöne Weihnachten. Schneidi In English: Normally I`m very rare in the mountains in winter, because I not a skier, baut I think this will be change in the next time. Alpine skiing is awesome. In Zermatt I was the first time on ski and it was a very fine experience. Together with Uwe Buchholz, Andre Wagenknecht und Felix Förster we had a nice weekend. The snow race was very fast, but sadly I had a crash with a not competing Snowboarder. Too bad… At least we had a lot of fun on ski. I wish everyone a marry christmas. Schneidi

Schneidi	Freefall- Race down the Matterhorn

> Profile	Morgen, früh am Morgen, fahre ich nach Zermatt zum Freefall Rennen vom Matterhorn. Es scheint eine lustige Sache zu werden, denn die beste Zeit auf Ski vom Matterhorn beträgt 23 Minuten! Das wird ein langer Snow Downhill. Das hört sich ziemlich gut an, ich hoffe ich kann den Rekord brechen! (mit einigen Abkürzungen) :-) In English: Tomorrow, early in the morning, I´m going to Zermatt to the Freefall Race down the Matterhorn. It seem to be a funny thing, because the fastest time on Ski down the Mountain is 23 minutes! This will be a long Downhill on snow. It sounds quiet nice, I hope I can break the record! (with some shortcuts) :-)


Schneidi	Ein schöner Freitag im November

> Profile	Als ich 5 Uhr Morgens aufwachte, regnete es draußen. In Österreich fuhren wir auf verschneiten Strassen und ich dachte, die ist ein schlechter Tag um in den Bergen Rad zu fahren. Als wir dort ankamen, hatten wir einen klaren, blauen Himmel und 15 Grad. Ich war überrascht über das Wetter und es sah ganz danach aus, doch noch ein schöner Tag zu werden. Die Xi Jungs waren echt freundlich und nahmen mich im Auto mit. Somit bekam ich gleich neue Kontakte zu ein paar Freunden. Die Trails die wir fuhren waren unglaublich, steinig, steil und manchmal sehr smooth und schnell. Es war ein Traum. „Vertriding“ nennt man das, für war es eine ganz neue Erfahrung. Aber ich mag es neue Sachen zu machen. Ich fuhr das erste mal mit den Vertriders. Christoph Malin und Picco zeigten mir wie sie das anstellen und ich versuchte es nach zu machen. Es war echt spaßig. Sie sagten mir ich hätte es ganz gut geschafft für den Anfang. Aber auf den schnellen Streckenteilen konnten sie wiederum etwas von mir lernen. Ich denke ich werde öfters mal Vertriden, es macht echt spaß. Mein Nucleon TFR ist das perfekte Rad für Vertriding. Kein Schaltwerk, schalten im stand und viel Bodenfreiheit passen optimal zu steilen verblockten Trails. Naja, da sieht man mal wieder, man lernt eben nie aus. Schneidi Danke Julius für deine Fotos. In English: When I woke up at 5 am, it was raining outside. In Austria we drove on snowed streets and I thought this will be a bad day for riding in the mountains. When we arrived, we had a clear blue sky and 15 degrees. I was amazed about this weather and it seemed to be a nice day. The Xi guys are very friendly and took me there by car. So I got new contacts to friends. The trails we rode were amazing, rocky, steep and sometimes very smooth and fast. It was a dream. “Vertriding” is it called, for me it was a very new experience. But I like to do some new things. I rode the first time with the Vertriders. Chistoph Malin and Picco showed how they do it, I tried to do the same. It was a lot of fun and I will do it oftener. They told me, it did it pretty good for the first time. But at the fast parts they learned something from me. It`s a funny thing. My Nucleon TFR took me save down the trials. It is a perfect bike for vertriding. No rear derailleur, shifting while stand and huge ground clearance are perfect for steep and blocking trails.
